November 26, 2019 <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />19 - 436 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Lucas-Burke offered the following nominations: <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority <br />Neal Barber to be appointed to fill a term ending December 31, 2024, replacing Don Scott. <br />Bette Drewy to be appointed to fill a term ending December 31, 2024, replacing Anthony <br />Hinds. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Lucas-Burke, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to close nominations <br />and the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Battle, Clark, Glover, Lucas-Burke, Psimas, Rowe <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />19 - 437 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br /> Ms. Psimas spoke on the following: <br /> <br /> <br />-Census part-time employment, 393-8244. <br /> <br />-Toll Relief Program enrollment, Monday, December 2, 2019 - February 15, 2020 <br />at the EZ Pass Customer Service Centers in Portsmouth and Norfolk. <br /> <br />-Winter Wonderland Coleman Collection at the Children’s Museum of Virginia, <br />November 29 - December 31, 2019. <br /> <br />-A Charlie Brown Christmas Jazz Concert, 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 <br />at Churchland High School. <br /> <br />-Christmas in Cradock, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019. <br />th <br /> <br />-25 Annual Santa Claus Shuffle, Sunday, December 8, 2019 starting at the <br />Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion. <br /> <br />-Holiday House Tours, 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Port Norfolk community. <br /> <br />-Adult Night at the Children’s Museum, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, December 12, <br />2019. <br /> <br />19 - 438 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />19 - 439 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. William Britt, 5109 Moonlit Avenue, voiced his concern with the Zoning Department <br />and with the lack of response from the City Manager’s Office. <br /> <br />2. Jack Bray, 342 Maryland Avenue, voiced his opposition to proposed casino gaming <br />in the City. <br /> <br />3. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Avenue, voiced her concern with the discussion of the <br />2020 City Council Calendar of meetings. <br /> <br />4. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, voiced his concern with the dismissive <br />attitude shown toward a citizen that spoke at a previous meeting. <br /> <br />5.
