August 26; 1986 <br /> <br /> The developers' share (50%) from both banks has been ~eceived <br />For this project. Sufficient funds have previously been appropriate <br />for this program for the City's share of the project. <br /> <br /> I concur with the Director of Public Works and reccmm~nd award <br />of the projec~ to.the low bidder. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Corprew, to award con- <br />tract for Alternate B to Conrad Brothers, Inc., being low biidder, <br />and was adopted by unanimous vo~e. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 86-323 Councilman Corprew offered the following nominations <br />for appointments to following Boards/Commissions: <br /> <br />Board df Appeals <br /> <br /> John H. Epperson and Robert L. Turner to be reappointed f~r a <br />~erm of four years, ending September 1, 1990. <br /> <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment 8 Housing Authority <br /> <br /> Rita Scott Forrest to be appointed for a term of four years; <br /> eplacing Ralph W. Gholson; McFall C. Gourdine to be reappointed <br />rom a term of four years; ~ith terms ending September 1, 1990. <br /> <br />Supplemental Retirement Board <br /> <br /> Harold A. Goodman to be appointed to fill an unexpired term, <br />ending October 1, 1987; replacing Dr. William H. Harris. <br /> <br />Mechanical Examining Board <br /> <br /> Harry L. Jones to be appointed to fill an unexpired term, <br />ending January 1, 1987; replacing Sidney H. Jones. <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services Advisory Commission <br /> <br /> Don Brown to be appointed as Ex-Off~cio to replace J. ~erbert <br />Simpson. (No Term) <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to close <br /> ns, and there being no further nominations, the above <br /> s were elected to the designated Board/Commission, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />86-324 The following citizens spoke opposing nuclear~waste <br />~ransported through the Hampton Roads area: <br /> <br /> Minister Rafiq Zaidi, S47-D Edwards Street, ~epresenti~g <br /> Concerned Citizens. <br /> Ms. ~erilyn Hiller, 117 Algonquin Road, Hampton, supporting <br />Concerned Citizens in Portsmouth. <br /> Ann E.
