<br />At a Regular Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, there were
<br />present:
<br />
<br />Mayor John L. Rowe, Jr., Vice Mayor Elizabeth M. Psimas, William E. Moody, Jr., Ray
<br />A. Smith., Dr. Mark M. Whitaker, Nathan J. Clark, Lisa L. Lucas-Burke, City Manager
<br />Dr. L. Pettis Patton, City Attorney Solomon H. Ashby, Jr.
<br />
<br />Councilman Ray A. Smith, Sr., opened the meeting with prayer, which was
<br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Rowe called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to approve the minutes of a
<br />Called Meeting of May 21, 2018, of a Called Meeting of May 22, 2018, and of a Regular
<br />Meeting of May 22, 2018, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Clark, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Psimas, Smith, Whitaker, Rowe
<br />Nays: None
<br />- Public Hearing -
<br />
<br />18-214 Public hearing on a proposed resolution declaring 15 Mimosa Road (Tax
<br />Parcel 0641-0140) to be surplus real property and authorizing the
<br />conveyance of said property to Willard J. Smith.
<br />
<br />18-215 - Invitation for bids for a wireless facilities franchise.
<br />
<br />There were no additional bids submitted for consideration.
<br />
<br />18 - 216 - Public hearing on wireless facilities franchise agreement:
<br />
<br /> Adoption of an ordinance accepting the bid submitted by Cox Wireless Access,
<br />LLC for a non-exclusive wireless facilities franchise agreement having a term of ten years
<br />with up to three renewal terms of five years each authorizing the placement of wireless
<br />facilities within the city’s public ways.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to adopt the following
<br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID SUBMITTED BY COX WIRELESS ACCESS,
<br />LLC FOR A NON-EXCLUSVIVE WIRELESS FACILITIES FRANCHISE AGREEMENT
<br />HAVING A TERM OF TEN YEARS WITH UP TO THREE RENEWAL TERMS OF FIVE
<br />YEARS EACH AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF WIRELESS FACILITIES WITHIN
<br />THE CITY’S PUBLIC WAYS.”
