206 May 23, 2000 <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO SUBDIVIDE. PROPERTY IN THE <br /> SOUTH WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT AREA. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br /> City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to subdivide property of the City of <br /> Portsmouth in the South Waterfront Development area bounded by Lincoln Street on <br /> the south, by the Crawford Connector on the north, on the east by the pierhead line of <br /> the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, and on the west by Brown Avenue, property <br /> ofthe Industrial Development Authority ofthe City of Portsmouth and property ofthe <br /> Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, <br /> authorized to execute plats, deeds and other documents necessary to implement this <br /> resolution, including any document necessary to dedicate public streets within such <br /> subdivision." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Whitehurst, Holley <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> - New Business - <br /> <br /> 00 - 121 - Board and Commissions <br /> <br /> There were no appointments. <br /> <br /> 00 - 122 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br /> > Mayor Holley made an appeal to citizens to volunteer for Boards and Commissions. <br /> > Mr. Massie updated Council on sound system in the City Council Chamber. <br /> <br /> ~ Councilman Moody complimented the Fire Department on ndependent Square <br /> Apartments fire, finding arsonist and asked for donation for burnout victims. <br /> <br /> 00 - 123 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br /> 1.
