-- De December 9, 1986 Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Webb, denied, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Webb Nays: Lucas, Simpson, Holley that Z~ 86-24 (c) Use Permit UP 86-14 HIGHLAND BILTMORE NEIGHBORHOOD: Use permit of the Cathedral of Praise by John O. 8 Linda N. McCloud, trustees, for a home for the aged at 715 Summers Plac UP 86-14 becomes "moot" due to the action taken on Z 86-24 and action was taken. (d) Use Permit UP 86-13 SOUTHSIDE NEIGHBROHOOD: Use permit applicaton of Robert L. Turner for six (6) townhouses on property located at the northwes corner of Chestnut Street anJ Portsmouth Boulevard. Robert L. Turner, 2910 Watson Street, representing Robert L. rurner, Ltd., was available to answer questions. On motion of Mr. Corprew and seconded by Mrs. Webb, UP 86-13 for s~x (6) townhouses on property located at the northwest corner of Chestnut Street and Portsmouth Boulevard, was approved on first reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote. (e) GHP 86-9 thru GHP 86-16 PRENTIS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD: Group housing projects application of Seaboard Ice Com- pany, by J. Gregory Dodd, agent, for eight (8) 4-unit apartment buildings on the east side of Chestnut Street between Randolph and Henry Streets. Greg Dodd, 139 Grayson Street, Heron g Dodd, P.C., repyesentinl Byers Development, spoke in support of the application. On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, GHP 86-9 thr~ GHP 86-16, for eight (8) 4-unit apartment buildings on the east sid~ of Chestnut Street between Randolph and Henry Streets, were approved on first reading~ and was adopted by unanimous vote. (f) PARKING VARIANCE DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD: Request o{. Benjamin B: Adderholdt, Jr., Architect, for ~ reduc- tion in parking from the Community ~rust Bani, 303 County Street, in the Downtown D-1 District. Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, ~o concu~ with the City Manager',s recommendation,~%hat the matter be tabled, land was ~dopted by unanimous vote. (g) CA 86-9 CODE AMENDMENT: A proposal to amen~ Section 40-285, Section 40-2~8 and Section 410-290 pertaining To signs. On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, CA 86-9 was ~pproved on first reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
