C. Norcom High School’s basketball team 4 State <br />Championship, 3 p.m., Friday, March 17 at I. C. Norcom High School. <br /> <br /> State Robotics Championship at Churchland High School, Saturday, March 18 and <br />Sunday, March 19 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. <br /> <br /> Public Utilities Open House at the Main Library on Court Street, Tuesday, March <br />21, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. <br /> <br /> The unveiling of Supporters of Public Art statue, Wednesday, March, 22, 2:30 p.m., <br />at the Main Library on Court Street. <br /> <br /> Dr. Whitaker spoke on the following: <br /> <br /> <br /> Inquired about cost of parade for the I. C. Norcom High School celebration. <br /> City Manager Patton informed citizens and City Council that there was no cost <br />o <br />associated with parade. <br /> <br /> Suggested that City Council fully fund the schools budget. <br /> <br /> Mr. Moody inquired about the fire at the Afton Green property and asked if a <br /> <br />maintenance plan had been put into place regarding the grass. <br /> <br /> City Manager Patton informed citizens and City Council that the bamboo on the <br />Afton Green property would be dug out and the grass in the surrounding area <br />would be cut. <br /> <br /> Dr. Whitaker asked City Manager Patton about the process and time table for cleaning <br /> <br />ditches with regards to a citizen concern. <br /> <br /> <br /> City Manager Patton informed citizens and City Council that this particular ditch <br />abutted the wetlands and would have to be cleaned by the Army Corps of <br />Engineers and that there was a regular schedule to clean out other ditches in the <br />City. <br /> <br />17 - 130 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br />17 - 131 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Carol McGill, 148 Allen Road, spoke in opposition to the charges accrued for a late <br />payment for personal property taxes. <br /> <br />2. Johnathan Reichart, 504 Prince Avenue, invited citizens and City Council to the <br />grand opening of D. C. Church, 4710 High Street West, Sunday, March 26 at 11 <br />a.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
