January 13, 1987 <br /> <br /> At a ~p~eial meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, <br />'anuary 13, 1987, there were present: <br /> <br />James W. Holley, III, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., <br />J. Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, <br />Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, City Manager, Steven <br />Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />87-1 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a special meeting of the City Council to be hel <br />Ln the Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street~ <br />at 4:30~p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 1987 for the purpose of a ' <br /> work session on an appeal from the Commission of Architectur~ <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an executive <br />session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 87-2 A public work session was held for an appeal from Calvin <br /> ette regarding a decision of the Commission of Architectral Revie <br /> Olde Towne/Cradock~Truxtun~n October 28, 1986 concerning 45 Manl <br />treet. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Harris, representing Atlas Awning & Window Company, <br />~as present for the contractor and requested that the appeal be <br />rescheduled due to the applicant contractor was out of the city and <br /> ~le to be present. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the CAR <br />oeal to be continued for the applicant contractor to be present, <br /> was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The applicant agreed to reschedule the hearing on January 27, <br />1987. <br /> <br /> 87-2Ca) - Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to go <br />into an executive session in accordance Section 2.1-344 of the Code <br />of Virginia to discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for <br /> ~ublic purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2); <br /> <br /> 2. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under <br />;ubsection (a) el); <br /> <br />3. Consulta~iDn~ with City Attorney and briefing by staff <br />~embers pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal <br /> .tters within the jurisdiction of the City Council as permitted <br /> subsection (a) (6); <br /> <br /> 4. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as per- <br />~itted under subsection (a) (1); <br /> <br />S.
