June 28, 2016 <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Moody, Whitaker, Psimas <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager’s Report - <br /> <br />16 - 197 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting $63,062.23 of Home Investment <br />Partnerships Program income and appropriating said amount in the FY 2015-16 <br />Community Planning and Development Program. <br />Vision Principle: Sustainable <br /> <br />Neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> There is the need to add to the appropriation for the Community Planning and <br />Development Program for FY 16 $63,062.23 of program income generated by the <br />payment of three Home Care housing rehabilitation loans. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The HOME funds will be included in the FY 16 Annual Action Plan. <br /> <br /> The additional program income needs to be appropriated by City Council. <br /> <br />Financial impact: <br /> <br /> The funds will support activities in the existing Annual Action Plan and there will <br />be no impact to service delivery. HOME funds require a match of not less than 25% of <br />HOME funds drawn. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. Vision Principle: Sustainable Neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The funds are approved and available upon authorization of the appropriation. <br /> <br />1. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Dr. Edmonds, and seconded by Mr. Cherry, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING $63,062.23 OF HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS <br />PROGRAM INCOME AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2015-16 <br />COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Moody, Whitaker, Psimas <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />16 - 198 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting $1,879 of Home Investment <br />Partnerships Program funds and appropriating said amount in the FY 2016-17 <br />Community Planning and Development Program. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) revised the FY <br />17 HOME allocation providing the City with an additional $1,879. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The HOME funds will be included in the FY 17 Annual Action Plan. <br /> <br /> The additional HOME funds need to be appropriated by City Council. <br /> <br />Financial impact: <br /> <br /> The funds will support activities in the existing Annual Action Plan and there will <br />be no impact to service delivery.
