June 14, 2016 <br /> <br />At a Regular Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Elizabeth M. Psimas, Paige D. Cherry, *Dr. Curtis <br />E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, Dr. Mark M. Whitaker, City Manager Dr. L. Pettis <br />Patton, City Attorney Solomon H. Ashby, Jr. <br /> <br />Councilman Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr. opened the meeting with prayer, which was <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br /> Mayor Wright called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. <br /> <br /> Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to approve the minutes of a <br />Called Meeting of May 24, 2016, and of a Regular Meeting of May 24, 2016, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br /> Special presentation of the Government Award to the Honorable Marlene Randall by <br />Vice Mayor Psimas. <br /> <br /> <br /> Mayor Wright informed citizens of the Stand with Orlando vigil, noon, Wednesday, <br />June 15, 2016 at the flag pole at High Street Landing. <br /> <br />- Public Hearing - <br /> <br />16 - 182 - Public hearing on rezoning and use permit applications: <br /> <br />(a) Z-16-02 UPTOWN - Ray Moore, with Circle Contracting is requesting that <br />the regulating plan for the D2-Form Based Code area be changed <br />from General Urban Frontage to Workshop Frontage for the <br />property located at 1320 London Boulevard. The purpose of this <br />request is to allow the existing light industrial activities at 1400 <br />London Boulevard to expand into the existing building and grounds <br />at 1320 London Boulevard. The Comprehensive Plan’s <br />Generalized Future Land Use Map recommends light industrial <br />development on the parcel. Vision Principle: A Robust and <br />Prosperous Economy. <br /> <br />1. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br />2. Peter Youngblood, 535 Hampton Place, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />3. Cliff Page, 465 Primrose Street, spoke in support of this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Meeks, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-16-02 be approved on first reading, <br />and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
