<br />Jasper T. Davis has made application to close a portion of Wilcox
<br />Avenue. I r~commend adoption oE the resolution appointing viewers
<br />for further consideration of this application."

<br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the
<br />ing resolution was adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />'A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF
<br />WILCOX AVENUE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Jasper T. Davis has made application to vacate, close
<br />~nd discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Wilcox Avenue,
<br />and it appearing that Notice of Application and Request for Appoint
<br />merit of Viewers has been advertised as required by law.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Waldo Davis, William
<br />Choate, James H. Griffin and James L. Linehan be appointed viewers
<br />and that Matthew Peanort and George N. Powers, Sr., be appointed
<br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails
<br />to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described por-
<br />tion of such street and to report to this Council in writing whethe~
<br />in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result ir
<br />wacating and closing the following:

<br />as that portion of Wilcox Avenue bounded on the north by
<br />the properties of Portsmouth Humane Society, Sidney Moore,

<br />bounded on the east and south by property of Jean M. Davis,
<br />Map Parcel 149-1; bounded on the west by property of Jean
<br />M. Davis and Portsmouth Humane Society."

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Counci] of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Simon P. Arrington,
<br />~obert McCurdy, James V. McGehee and Raymond Tweed be appointed
<br />ziewers and that Emmerson Smith and C. L. Knight be appointed alter-
<br />~ate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to
<br />~articipate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described portion
<br />>f such street and to report to this Council in writing whether in
<br />their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in
