175 February 10, 1987 At a special meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, February 10, 1987, there were present: James W. Holley, III, J. Robert Gray, J. Herbert Simpson, Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. Absent: Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., L. Louise Lucas. 87-41 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a ~pecial meeting of the City Council tv be .eld in the Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Cr~wford Street, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 1987 for the ~urpose of a public work session on an appeal from the Commission of Archi- tectural Review, deferred from the public work session of J~nuary 27, 1987. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an executive session. By order of the Mayor." 87-2 - A public work session was held for the appeal f~m Mr. Calvin Majette, regarding a decision of the Commission Architectural Review for Olde Towne/CradockZTruxtun for ~5 Manly Street, and deferred from a public work session on January 27, 1987. Mr. Calvin Majette, property owner, made his presentation. (Mr. Jack Harris, representing contractor was not present) Ernest Freeman, City Planner, made a presentation. All previous postponements were at the request of Mr. Jack Harris, Calvin Majette~ contractor. Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray, that ){r. Freema City Planner, and other City personnel, meet with Mr. Majet~ to re- solve the matter ~n question, and was adopted by unanimous v~te(5-0) 87-41(a) - Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mrs. W~bb, to go into an executive session ~n accordance with Section 2.1-544 of the Code of Virginia ~o discuss the following: 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permiited under subsection (a) (2); 2. The dispositicn of publicly held prcperty as permitted und subsection (a) (2); 3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff nembers pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within the jurisidiction of City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (6); 4. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as per- mitted under subsection (a) (1); 5. A personnel matter as permitted under subsection (a) (1). On motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
