Robert Gray, J. Herbert Simpson, <br />Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, City Manager, Steven <br />Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />Absent: Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., L. Louise <br /> Lucas. <br /> <br />87-41 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a ~pecial meeting of the City Council tv be <br />.eld in the Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Cr~wford <br />Street, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 1987 for the ~urpose <br />of a public work session on an appeal from the Commission of Archi- <br />tectural Review, deferred from the public work session of J~nuary <br />27, 1987. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an executive <br />session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 87-2 - A public work session was held for the appeal f~m <br />Mr. Calvin Majette, regarding a decision of the Commission <br />Architectural Review for Olde Towne/CradockZTruxtun for ~5 Manly <br />Street, and deferred from a public work session on January 27, 1987. <br /> <br /> Mr. Calvin Majette, property owner, made his presentation. <br />(Mr. Jack Harris, representing contractor was not present) <br /> <br />Ernest Freeman, City Planner, made a presentation. <br /> <br /> All previous postponements were at the request of Mr. Jack <br />Harris, Calvin Majette~ contractor. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray, that ){r. Freema <br />City Planner, and other City personnel, meet with Mr. Majet~ to re- <br />solve the matter ~n question, and was adopted by unanimous v~te(5-0) <br /> <br /> 87-41(a) - Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mrs. W~bb, to <br />go into an executive session ~n accordance with Section 2.1-544 of <br />the Code of Virginia ~o discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for <br /> public purposes as permiited under subsection (a) (2); <br /> 2. The dispositicn of publicly held prcperty as permitted und <br /> subsection (a) (2); <br />3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff <br />nembers pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal <br />matters within the jurisidiction of City Council as permitted under <br />subsection (a) (6); <br /> 4. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as per- <br />mitted under subsection (a) (1); <br /> 5.
