March 22, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br /> The City of Portsmouth received an award notification, from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services, to fund six (6) school safety officer positions <br />(salaries and benefits only), at $16,108 each, for W.E. Waters Middle School, Cradock <br />Middle School, Churchland Middle School, Woodrow Wilson High School, Churchland <br />High School, and I.C. Norcom High School. This funding is to be used to establish, <br />enhance, and continue the partnership between local law enforcement agencies and <br />local school divisions. <br /> <br /> The school safety officer grant requires a 25% local match.
