2!9 <br /> <br />March 24, 1987 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the follo~ <br />lng ordinance was approved on first reading; award of contract to <br />Woodington Corporation, being responsive, low bidder, and was adopte <br />by unanimous vote CS-O). <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $722,700 FROM THE PUBLIC <br />UTILITIES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO <br />THE MAIN WATER BOOSTER PUMPING STATION AT GODWIN STREET." <br /> <br /> 87-106 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to appropriate $1,003,985 from the Public Utilities <br />Capital Improvement Fund for improvements ~o the Lake Kilby Water <br />Treatment Plant. <br /> <br /> "Last July I brought before you a request to appropriate funds <br />for design services, Geotechnical Services and the printing of <br />and specifications to initiate Phase II of the rehabilitation <br />Lake Kilby Water Treatment Plant. This is a continuation of the <br />State approved master plan prepared in 1981. Phase II of the work <br />will replace the number one filter plant (circa 1898/1947) and in- <br />clude equipping the new bilters, rehabilitating the existing valves <br />in the two remaining plants, replacing the chlorine feed system and <br />completing the plant instrumentation work. <br /> <br /> The work which was approved this past summer has been <br />and the City's Director of Public Utilities. Mr. James R. Spac <br />prepared to move forward with the next stage of engineering se <br />Attached is a detailed listing of the project elements, associ <br />costs, as well as funding that has been approved to-date. As <br />can see from this report, elements e,f,g and h are being req <br />for funding at this time. Lawrence Stadium, and award of contract. <br /> _ <br /> Last June, City Council requested that a Master Plan be Dre- <br />pared for the renovation of Frank D. Lawrence Stadium. the Ma~ter <br />Plan would consist of a Utilization Analysis for the existing ~tad <br />mm and surrounding area, as well as actual design and budget ~sti <br />nates, rhe City Engineer recently conducted interviews with archi <br />tectural firms for lt~e selection of a consultant. Of the three <br />submitting letters of intent, the selection committee has <br />ed Hayes, Seay, Mattern and Mattern. <br /> <br /> The scope of work for the Master Plan is broken down into two <br />)hases: <br /> <br />Phase I Utilization Plan $17,000 <br />Phase II- Design and Bid To be determined <br /> at completion of <br /> Phase I <br /> <br />The City Engineer is requesting the appropriation df $17,000 <br /> <br /> <br />
