Library 100th Birthday Celebration. - City Employee Servicer Awards Ceremony. - Investiture of Judge Earle Mobley. - Blue Star Memorial Dedication - Zion Bethel United Church of Christ 5th Year Celebration of the Drug and Substance Abuse Ministry. - Horace Savage Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient. ➢ Ms. Psimas invited citizens and City Council to the St. Mark Academy Christmas Pageant on December 18 at 7 p.m. ➢ Mr. Moody spoke on Christmas in Cradock. ➢ Mayor Wright informed citizens of the following upcoming events: Oath of Office Ceremony, December 30 at 6 p.m. in City Council Chamber. Dr. Mark Whitaker and Dr. Ingrid Whitaker will be sworn in on December 22 at New Bethel Baptist Church. 14 - 477 - Report on Pending Items • There were no pending items. • Dr. Wanda Gill, Parks and Recreation Director, provided an update on the new skate park at City Park, The Pines, the fishing pier, the Cradock activity building at the middle school, and the tennis courts. 14 - 478 - Non - Agenda Speakers 1. Louis Richardson, 4824 George Washington Highway, spoke on services offered by the Virginia Employment Commission. 2. Gary Donbar, 1129 Washington Drive, asked that City Council get staff to waive permit fees for a citizen in the community. 3. Tony Goodwin, 38 Linden Avenue, spoke on the upcoming holiday events in the City. 4. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, spoke on various issues within the City.
