August 26, 2014 <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />• The City Manager will direct the Director of DBHS to take the necessary steps to <br />ensure that the State's DBHDS receives notification of City Council's approval of the <br />FY15 Performance Contract. <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br />"RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE FY 15 PERFORMANCE CONTRACT FOR THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES." <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />- New Business - <br />14 - 317 -Boards and Commissions <br />There were no appointments. <br />14 - 318 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />Adoption of an ordinance authorizing the transfer of $398,312 from the FY 2014- <br />15 Undesignated Fund Balance to the FY 2014-15 General Fund and appropriating <br />said funds to provide aone-time 3% bonus to the City's Constitutional Officers <br />and their employees. <br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, spoke in opposition to this item. <br />Motion by Mr. Meeks, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br />"ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $398,312 FROM THE FY 2014-15 <br />UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE TO THE FY 2014-15 GENERAL FUND AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS TO PROVIDE AONE-TIME 3% BONUS TO THE <br />CITY'S CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES." <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />- Mayor Wright spoke on the following events: <br />- Welcomed Ida Kay Jordan back and referenced an article she published in the <br />Currents. <br />- Thanked Anita Blanton, WAVY News 10, for interview highlighting downtown <br />economic development projects. <br />- ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. <br />- Mr. Moody informed citizens of the Animal Shelter's 125t" Anniversary and asked <br />that Staff come back to Council with an update on opening a dog park in the City. <br />- Mayor Wright informed citizens of the upcoming 125t" Birthday celebration at <br />Calvary Baptist Church. <br />14 - 319 -Report on Pending Items <br />• There were no pending items. <br />14 - 320 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Joe Wright, 1451 Welcome Road, spoke on the Police, Fire and Sheriff Departments <br />participation in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. <br />
