August 26, 2014 Next Steps Following Council Action: • Reimburse the City's U.S. Treasury line-of-credit in the amount of $250,487.67 from General Fund. Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: "ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $250,487 FROM THE FY 2014-15 UNASSIGNED GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO THE FY GENERAL FUND AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2014-15 GENERAL FUND TO REPAY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT." Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright Nays: None 14 - 310 -Adoption of an ordinance accepting a grant in the amount of $10,550 from the Business Consortium for Arts Support and appropriating said funds in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund for the "Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition" at the Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center. Vision Principle: Lifelong Learning Community. Background: • Each year the Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center applies to the Business Consortium for Arts Support for a grant to help support exhibitions and programming. Discussion: • The grant has been awarded for General Operating Support and will be used in the development, installation and programming for the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit. • FY 2015 will be the tenth year of this exhibition. • The exhibition will be in the courtyard of the Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center. • The exhibition will open on April 3, 2015 and will run through October 11, 2015. • An opening reception will be held on March 7, 2015. Financial Impact: • No matching funds are required for this grant. Staff Recommends: • Adoption of proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Lifelong Learning Community. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: "ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,550 FROM THE BUSINESS CONSORTIUM FOR ARTS SUPPORT AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2014-15 GRANTS FUND FOR THE OUTDOOR SCULPTURE COMPETITION AND EXHIBITION AT THE PORTSMOUTH ART AND CULTURAL CENTER." Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright Nays: None 14 - 311 -Adoption of an ordinance accepting a grant in the amount of $165,000 from the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia and appropriating said funds in the FY 2014-15 Grants Fund for use by the Third Judicial District Circuit Court for the Portsmouth Adult Drug Treatment Court.
