<br />At a Regular Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, there
<br />were present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City Manager John L. Rowe,
<br />Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />Reverend Joseph Cailles opened the meeting with prayer, which was followed by
<br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Mayor Wright called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance.
<br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to approve the minutes of a
<br />Called Meeting of April 21, 2014, of a Called Meeting of April 22, 2014, and of a Regular
<br />Meeting of April 22, 2014, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />- Mayor Wright recognized students of Waters Middle School for their participation in
<br />the National Environmental Symposium.
<br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to add an item to the
<br />agenda, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Mr. Cherry, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following
<br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />1. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />2. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />3. Pat Simons, 801 Mimosa Road, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />4. Chris Evans, 192 Yorkshire Road, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />5. Delores Knight, 33 Kennedy Drive, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />6. Margie Tyner, 912 Godwin Avenue, spoke in support of this item.
<br />"ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS OF $500,000 IN THE GENERAL
<br />FUND-OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE CLASSIFICATION OF THE FY 2013-14
<br />EDUCATION FUND AND $2,100,000 IN THE OTHER FUNDS-TEXTBOOK FUND
<br />PORTION OF THE FY 2013-14 EDUCATION FUND."

<br />- Public Hearing -
<br />14 - 179 -Public hearing on recommended 2015-2019 Capital Improvement Program.
<br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, spoke in support of this item but had
<br />concerns with the proposed recreation for the City.
<br />2. Ruth Okoye, 1 Lantern Way, asked that City Council fully fund the School's Capital
<br />Improvement Program request.
<br />3. Karen Streeter, 2003 Sawgrass Lane, asked that City Council fully fund the School's
<br />Capital Improvement Program request.
