<br />• The appropriation will increase and decrease certain categorical level of funding
<br />in the Fiscal Year 2013 -2014 Portsmouth Public Schools Operating Budget.
<br />Recommended Action:
<br />• Adoption of the ordinance. Vision Principles: Quality of Life and Lifelong Learning
<br />Community.
<br />Next Steps Following Council Action:
<br />• Finance will complete the necessary budget adjustments.
<br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following
<br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />"ORDINANCE REALIGNING CATEGORICAL FUNDING LEVELS FOR THE
<br />PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS' FY 2013 -14 OPERATING BUDGET."

<br />Military Spouse of the Year for 2014.
<br />14 - 189 -Report on Pending Items
<br />• Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by
<br />citizens at the April 22, 2014 City Council Meeting.
<br />14 - 190 -Non-Agenda Speakers
<br />1. Bill Hayden, 841 Five Point Road, asked that City Council fully fund the School
<br />Board's budget request and spoke on the impact Starbase has had on students.
<br />2. Ursula Murphy, 2001 Elmhurst Lane, asked that City Council fully fund the School
<br />Board's budget request.
<br />3. Geraldine Johnson, 1012 South Street, voiced her concern with safety in her
<br />neighborhood.
<br />4. Tracey Parada, 425 Biltmore Place, asked that City Council continue to provide
<br />funding for the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) program.
