August 13, 2013 <br />Tidewater Youth Services Commission <br />Katherine Grimm to be appointed to fill a term ending June 30, 2015, replacing David <br />Lively. <br />Wetlands Board <br />Thomas Bourgelus to be appointed to a term ending May 31, 2015, replacing Marcella <br />Thomas. <br />Lena Simmons to be appointed to a term ending May 31, 2016, replacing Carolyn <br />Gettier. <br />Samuel Peyton to be reappointed to a term ending May 31, 2018. <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to close nominations, and <br />the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Cherry <br />Nays: None <br />13 - 337 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />- Ms. Psimas reminded citizens of the 43th Annual Seawall Arts Show, Saturday, <br />August 24 and Sunday, August 25. <br />- Ms. Psimas informed citizens and City Council of the tour of the planetarium, at the <br />Children's Museum, that was created by high school students from the City. <br />13 - 338 -Report on Pending Items <br />There were no pending items. <br />13 - 339 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Steve Carroll, 3112 Riveredge Drive, voiced his concern with the decision by the <br />Virginia General Assembly to adopt the Public Private Transportation Act of 1995. <br />2. Steve Whitehead, 4419 County Street, voiced his concern with a parking ticket he <br />received. <br />3. Francis Jones, 600 Yorktown Avenue, voiced her opposition to the methadone clinic <br />in her neighborhood. <br />4. Delores Knight, 33 Kennedy Drive, voiced her concern with National Night Out. <br />5. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke on Principle of Liberty #2. <br />6. Terry Danaher, 413 Dinwiddie Street, gave an update on the tolls lawsuit. <br />7. Cowanis Duckett, 1524 Crystal Lake Drive, asked if the street in his neighborhood <br />could be repaved while it's closed. <br />8. Elvira Johnson, 3313 Armistead Drive, cleared up comments that were made about <br />the National Night Out. She also voiced her concern with the lack of a recreational <br />facility in her neighborhood. <br />9. Regenia Black, 572 Yorktown Avenue, spoke in opposition to the methadone clinic in <br />her neighborhood. <br />
