July 9, 2013 <br />Food Truck Committee <br />Gene Breckenridge <br />Curtis Lyons <br />Lewis Nappa <br />Alice Amory <br />Candice Reid <br />Corey Wells <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Cherry, to close nominations, and <br />the above nominations were adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />13 - 291 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />- Mayor Wright spoke on the following events: <br />- Sequestration talk by Admiral Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations <br />- Talk with Congressional Gold Medal recipient William Randolph Davis <br />- Cavalier Manor Civic League walk <br />- Mr. Moody spoke on the following events: <br />- 95t" Independence Day Celebration in Cradock <br />- Long Point 1St Annual Barbecue Cookoff <br />- Mr. Edmonds informed citizens and City Council of the Wal-Mart talk concerning the <br />hiring of 100,000 veterans. <br />- Ms. Psimas thanked Dennis Bagley, Director of General Services, and team for <br />bolting down the cannon along the seawall over the holiday weekend. She also <br />thanked Chief Hargis, Police Chief, and team for the removal of the sunken boat in <br />Crawford Bay. <br />- Mr. Moody informed citizens of the upcoming City Council Retreat, Friday, July 12, <br />2013 and Saturday, July 13, 2013. <br />13 - 292 -Report on Pending Items <br />There were no pending items. <br />• Dennis Bagley, Director of General Service, provided an update on the Recycling <br />Program. <br />13 - 293 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Carol McGill, 148 Allen Road, asked that the assessed value of her home be <br />reduced. <br />2. Cyneese Johnson, 501 Viking Street, voiced her concern with trash being left on the <br />concrete platform in Cavalier Manor once curbside recycling is implemented. <br />3. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke of Principle of Liberty #19. <br />4. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, asked that an annual report be provided <br />to citizens regarding public-private partnerships within the City. <br />5. Ursula Murphy, 3001 Elmhurst Lane, voiced her concern with the overgrowth of <br />grass along the off ramps, on ramps and the London Boulevard overpass at Broad <br />Street. <br />- Ms. Psimas informed citizens that all active duty military and immediate family <br />members can go to the museums in Portsmouth for free through Labor Day. <br />
