The State Department of <br />Highways Furchased 2.C81 acres of the total proper~y in March of <br />1986. The tax abatement was not done at that time and resulted in <br />the overpayment of taxes. The refund is for the Real, Estate Taxes <br />assessed and paid in error for the fourth quarter of the 1985-86 <br />fiscal year. <br /> <br /> I recommend that Council adopt this motion and a refund be <br />granted with interest." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr~ Simpson and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, that authori <br />zation be granted to refund to Coronet Casuals, Inc., $80.40 (with <br />interest) as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-219 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to refund $556.21 Cwith interest) for Business License to <br />C. Manley Henderson, Inc. <br /> <br /> "The Commissioner of Revenue is requesting a refund of $356.21 <br />with interest, to C. Manley Henderson, Inc., 414 Sussex Drive, <br />Portsmouth, Virginia 23707. <br /> <br /> The business was classified as Professional Service instead of <br />Business Service. <br /> <br /> I recommend that Council adopt this motion, and refund be <br />granted." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that authori- <br />zation be granted to refund to C.
