<br />Ordinance to amend Section 40-102 pertaining to
<br />parking variances in historic districts, approved
<br />on first reading at the meeting of January 27, 1987,
<br />deferred from the regular meeting of February 10,
<br />1987, CA 86-11.

<br /> Lewis Thomas, 131 Florida Avenue, representing the Port Norfol
<br />Civic League, spoke against the plan as it did not address resident
<br />parking in the historic districts.
<br />
<br /> Motion of:Mr:~Simpson and"seconded by Mrs. Wehb, :that ditizen
<br />be allowed to speak, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br /> Doris Leitner, 215 Glasgow Street, representing the Olde Towne
<br />Civic League, requested that Olde Towne be exempted from the Code
<br />Amendment and no parking variances be allowed.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to amend the
<br />ordinance to exempt Olde Towne from the parking variances.
<br />
<br /> Substitute motion of Mr:.Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to
<br />defer action on the matter to the meeting of May 26, 1987, and was
<br />adopted by the following vote:
