396 <br />April 9, 2013 <br />- New Business - <br />13 - 168 -Boards and Commissions <br />There were no appointments. <br />13 - 169 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />- Mayor Wright informed citizens of the Budget Work Session, 6 p.m., Tuesday, April <br />16, 2013. <br />- Ms. Psimas informed citizens of the following: <br />- 61St Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT). <br />- Little League Season Kickoff, 9 a.m., Saturday, April 13 at St. Julien's Creek. <br />- Humane Society Cause for the Paws, Saturday, April 13 events start at 10 am. <br />- Pretty Up Portsmouth, 7:30 a.m., April 20 starting at City Park. <br />- Virginia Arts Festival, 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 22 at Trinity Church. <br />- Mayor Wright informed citizens of the loss of Yale Dorsey and Marty Blake who <br />played an integral role in the PIT Events. <br />- Ms. Randall recognized the Bartlett family. <br />13 - 170 -Report on Pending Items <br />• Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by <br />citizens at the March 26, 2013 City Council Meeting. <br />13 - 171 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Vernon Elliott, 623a Hightower Road, offered a few words of inspiration to the City <br />Council. <br />2. Delores Knight, 33 Kennedy Drive, voiced her concern with historical Cradock not <br />being included as part of the State of the City Address. <br />3.
