<br />Motion by Mr. Cherry, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to add an item to the
<br />agenda, and was adopted by the following vote:

<br />Motion by Mr. Cherry, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, that the sum of
<br />$114,359.25 be appropriated from the remaining undesignated fund balance above
<br />policy to the Center for Community Development, Incorporated, commonly known as
<br />"CCDI." After receipt of the funds, CCDI is to provide the City Manager and City Council
<br />a copy of the 2010 and 2011 audit of its finances, and was adopted by the following
<br />vote:
<br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, spoke in opposition to this item.
<br />2. Pat Simons, 801 Mimosa Road, spoke in opposition to this item.

<br />Nays: Heretick, Wright
<br />- Mr. Moody asked that the City Manager share with City Council and citizens the
<br />status and the justification for keeping the former Fire Chief on the City's payroll.
<br />12 - 397 -Report on Pending Items
<br />• Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by
<br />citizens at the September 11, 2012 City Council Meeting.
<br />12 - 398 -Non-Agenda Speakers
<br />1. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, voiced his concern with various issues within the City.
<br />2. Charles Whitehurst, 342 Worthington Square, wanted to debunk rumors that he is in
<br />bad health.
<br />3. Deloris Knight, 33 Kennedy Drive, voiced her concern with a post on Facebook.
<br />4. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, outlined the characteristics of virtuous and
<br />moral leaders.
<br />5. Tony Goodwin, 38 Linden Avenue, asked that the aesthetic details of the downtown
<br />area reflect the historic nature of the neighborhood.
<br />6. Steve Carroll, 3112 Riveredge Drive, wanted an explanation for the increase in cost
<br />for the new Courthouse Complex and voiced his support for the hiring of an
<br />independent auditor.
