376 July 14, 1987 At a called meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, July 1987, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley, III, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., J. Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, Glozia. O:.Webb,~,- George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. Absent: J. Herbert Simpson 87-294 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a called meeting of the ~City Council to be held in the.Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street. at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 1987, for the purpose of a public work session for a presentation on New Tourism Commercial. In addition you may consider a motion to go into an executive ession. By order of the Mayor." 87-294 (a) A pubtic work session was held on the following: (1) Gerald Burgess, Director of Economic Development, present, display of brochures, etc. to be used for..trade shows. (2) Pam Jones, Coordinator of Tourism, Economice Development, resented two ~ideos on Portsmouth to be shown on Cable TV in rirginia Beach and Williamsburg. 87-294[b) Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to go into an executive'session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: 1~ The condition, acquisition and use of real property for )ublic purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2), 2.. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under ;ubsection (al (1); 3~ Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within theljurisdiction of the City Council as permitted under Subsection (a) (6); 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); S. Consideratinn of appointments by the City CoUncil as ~ermitted under subsection (a) (1).
