438 <br /> <br />August 25, 1987 <br /> <br /> On mction of Mr. Simpson and <br />mng ordinance was adopted on first <br />following vote: <br /> <br />seconded by Mr. Gray, the followr <br />and final reading, and by the <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF WESTMORELAND AVENUE." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Hollo <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-373 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to close a portion of Winston Road. <br /> <br /> "Rustom J. Irani and Milda A. Irani have made application to <br />close a portion of Winston Road. The viewers report and the report <br />from the Planning Commission recommend approval of the application. <br /> <br /> The City will reserve an easement for an existing water line <br />and for storm drainage purposes. <br /> <br /> I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing this portion of <br />Winston Road." <br /> <br /> Sheila M. McLaughlin, attorney 968 S. Oriole Drive, Virginia <br />Beach, representing applicant, spoke ~n favor of the closing. <br /> <br /> Rustom J. Irani, 4520 Winston Road, petitioner requested <br />closing that portion of Winston Road. <br /> <br /> Edward L. Oast, Jr., 4512 Winston Road, adjacent land owner <br />asked that the petition be denied because it would adversely affect <br />his property possibly at a later time. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and <br />request to close a portion of <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />seccnded by Mr. SimFson, that the <br />Winston Rcad be denied, and was ado <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holle <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-374 <br />an ordinance <br />Norfolk Road <br /> <br />Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />so close a portion of Chemical Way between Old West <br />and Progress Avenue. <br /> <br /> "Virginia Chemicals Inc., has made application to vacate a <br />portion of Chemical Way between Old West Norfolk Road and Progress <br />Avenue. The applicant owns the property on either side of the <br />of the street to be closed. <br /> <br /> The viewers report and Planning Commission both <br />approval of the application. <br /> <br /> The City will reserve an easement in the street <br />water and sanitary sewer lines. <br /> <br />recommend <br />for existing <br /> <br /> I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing a portion of <br />Chemical Way between Old West Norfolk Road and Progress _Avenue." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the loll <br />ing ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />an <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-375 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />ordinance to amend the City Code to permit credit card payment <br />taxes. <br /> <br /> <br />
