Buxton, to be appointed to fill an unexpired term <br />ending July 1, 1988; replacing Robert E. Spencer, Jr. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to close <br />nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above <br />members were elected to the designated Boards/Commission, and <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Webb offered the following nomination for <br />appointment to the following Board: <br /> <br />STOP <br /> <br /> Harold Goodman, to be appointed for a three year term, <br />effective November 1, 1987; replacing James Vaughan. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Lucas requested that the STOP appointment be <br />voted on separately because she Would abstain being employed by <br />STOP. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to close <br />nominations on STOP and there being no further nominations, the <br />above member to be elected, and was adopted by 6-0-1 <br />(Abstain-Lucas) vote. <br /> <br /> 87-461 - Ginny Becket, 700 London Blvd., ChairpersOn of <br />the Senior Citizens Commission, requested that secretarial <br />staff be provided to the Commission. <br /> <br /> The City Manager will review the request and report back <br />to Council. <br /> <br /> 87-462 - The following citizens spoke concerning the <br />problems they have had with the Board of Zoning Appeals: <br /> <br />Jesse H.
