This street closure would facilitate <br />securing the adjacent property and removal of 5he hazardous <br />materials~ <br /> <br /> The. Notice of Application and Request for Appo.intment of <br />Viewers was previously advertised for the Council meeting on <br />October 13. However, the matter was deferred to the October 27th <br />meeting due to thelfact tha~ the notice was not received in time <br />to be placed on the previous agenda. <br /> <br /> I recommend adoption of ~he resolution appointing viewers as <br />requested'by the applicant." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr.~Gray, the <br />following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING:OF A PORTION OF <br /> SEVENTH STREET AND RANDOLPH STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, AbeX C rporatlon nas made application to vacate, <br />cloSe and discontinue ~he hereinafter-described portions of <br />Seventh Street and Randotph Streets, and it appearing that Notice <br />of ApPliCation and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been <br />duly advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the~City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Simon P. Arrington, <br />Robert.McCurdy, James V. McGhee and Raymond~Tweed be appointed <br />viewers, and that MOses Gibson and Clinton J. FortUne be appointed <br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails <br />to participate, Said viewers to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of such streets and to report to this Council in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would <br />result in vacating and clOsinq~ the following: <br /> ParcellA~ <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point;at,the intersection <br />of the northern right-of-way l~ne of Randolph <br />Street and the western right-of-way line of <br />Seventh Street, thence due north along the <br />western right-of-way tine of Seventh Street a <br />distance of 88.70 feet to a point; thence N <br />89~ 52' 10" E; 11.00 feet to a point; thence <br />due south, 98.70' to a point;~thence S-89~ 5~' <br />10" W, 11.00 feet to a point in the southerly <br />extension of the western right-of-way line of~ <br />Seventh Street; thence due no~th along-said <br />southerly extension a-distance~of 10~00~feet <br />to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> The parcel described above contains 1,086 <br />square feet. <br /> <br /> <br />
