October 27, 1987 At a called meeting of the City Council held on October 27, 1987, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley, III, Jack P. J. Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, J. Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. Barnes, Herbert Simpson, II, City Manager * Absent: E. G. Corprew, Jr. 87-453 The f~llowing call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a called meeting of the city Council to be held in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor, of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 1987, for the purpose of a public work session for a briefing on the City's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance. In addition you may conside~ a motion to go into an executive session. By order of the Mayor." 87-453(a) - The City Manage~ introduced Mr. Eric Kelly, consultant with Kelly and Potter, P.C. Mr. Kelly gave a briefing on City's proposed Zoning and Subdivision ordinance. The City Manager presented an up-dated video on corporate attractions in the City of Portsmouth. 87-453(b) Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to go into an executive session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: 1. The condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 2. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under subsection (a) (1); 3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (6); 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 5. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as permitted under subSection (a) (1).
