555

88-6 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
an ordinance to appropriate $205,000 from the Capital Improvement
Fund for improvements to the Sleepy Hole Golf Course.

"The 1987-92 Capital Improvement Program includes funds
for the installation of an automatic irrigation system and puttin¢
green at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. In order to have the projects
completed and the course available for the L.P~G.A. tournament in
May, the work must begin by February 1, 1988. These remaining bids are
scheduled to be opened on January 11, 1988 and. Harsley, 2t24 Peach Street, representing the Lee
Ward Civic League, spoke in opposition to the appropriation of th(
funds.

Councilmen Williams and Corprew requested revenue and
expenditure comparison on Sleepy Lake Golf Course.

Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the
following ordinance was approved on first reading, and was adopted
by 6-1 (Nay-williams) vote.
