The notice of publication and-request for <br />appointment of viewers has been advertised. <br /> <br /> · I recommend adoption~ef..therresolution appointing viewers for <br />this application." <br /> <br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF <br /> BALLARD AVENUE. ~ ..... <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Wilcox <br />Avenue, and it appearing that Notice of Application and Request <br />for-Appointment of Viewers~has been advertised as required by law. <br /> <br /> ~ NOW~-THEREFORE,-BE IT~RESOLVED by the~Cou~cil'~f the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Melville A. <br />Bunting, Lee Batts, Casey Lavender, HarryHopewell~be'appointed <br />viewers and that Harrision Miller and Charles 'Hudgins be appointed <br />alternate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails <br />to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described <br />portion of such street and to report to this Council in writing <br />whether.in their opinion any,~and if any what, inconvenience would <br />result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br /> · - Balta~d Avenue <br /> Parcel 1 <br /> <br />That portion of Batlard Avenue shown as <br />Seaboard Avenue and being 30' in width on the <br />Plat of Washington Heights, duly recorded in <br />the Cierk's Office·of-.the Circuit Court of <br />Chesapeake in Map Hook 19 at page 90. Beginning <br />on the east side of Laigh Road (formerly <br />Grogan Avenue) thence east 340 feet more or less <br />to the eastern boundary of the aforementioned plat. <br /> <br /> ~Beginning on the west side o~ Laigh Road <br /> (formerly Grogan Avenue) thence west 477 feet <br /> more or less to the western boundary of the <br /> aforementioned plat." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes,, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, SimpSon, Williams, Webb <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> ~'88-59 Letter from the City'Manager recommending adoption <br />a motion authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for <br />the operation and management of Willett Hall. <br /> <br /> "The Portsmouth School Board-at its Thursday, January 28,- <br />1988, meeting, authorized the Superintendent of Schools to enter <br />into an agreement with the City for the operation and management <br />of Willett Hall. Working with the City Attorney's Office, an <br />agreement has been prepared establishing this relationship, as <br />well as a "Management Team." I, therefore, recommend City <br />Council's approval to execute an agreement for the operation and <br />management of Willett Hall." <br /> <br /> <br />
