<br />AUQust 9. 2011 <br /> <br />(c) SNC-11-01 <br /> <br />VICTORY VILLAGE - Ordinance granting the request of Victory <br />Crossing Developers II L.L.C., for a street name change for the <br />portion of Quantico Street that is currently located within Victory <br />Village. The proposed new name is John T. Casteen, III Drive. This <br />street is located on the western and southern boundary of the <br />Frederick Beazley Campus of Tidewater Community College. The <br />Comprehensive Plan calls for this area to be developed as a mixed <br />use employment area. Vision Principle: Bold New Directions. <br /> <br />There were no speakers. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Heretick, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF QUANTICO STREET TO JOHN T. <br />CASTEEN, 11\ DRIVE." <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Heretick, Moody, Randall, Whitehurst, Wright <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager's Report - <br /> <br />11 - 328 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting a grant in the amount of $182,500 <br />from the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia and <br />appropriating said amount in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund for use by the Circuit <br />Court for the Portsmouth Adult Drug Treatment Court. Vision Principle: Thriving <br />Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The Portsmouth Adult Drug Treatment Court was established to serve as an <br />intensive treatment program for the purpose of treating nonviolent felony offenders who <br />are dependent upon drugs and/or alcohol. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. This program was first implemented in 2000. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. There is no City cash match required. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br />. Adoption of proposed ordinance. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a <br />Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br />.
