The full implementation of the USDA Summer Food Program throughout the <br />summer of 2011. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICULTURE IN THE AMOUNT OF $525,061.28 AND APPROPRIATING SAID <br />AMOUNT IN THE FY 2011-12 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />PARKS, RECREATION, AND lEISURE SERVICES FOR THE 2011 USDA SUMMER <br />FOOD PROGRAM." <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Heretick, Moody, Randall, Whitehurst, Wright <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />11 - 256 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $16,800 in the FY 2010-11 <br />Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund in mental health funds allocated by the <br />Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Vision <br />Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of Community. <br /> <br />Background: <br />. The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services <br />(DBHDS) has awarded the Department of Behavior Healthcare Services monies to <br />implement a national approved Evidenced Based Training to fourteen consumers. The <br />Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a training designed to promote recovery, <br />hope and empowerment to consumers with mental health illness. The funding will allow <br />our consumers to get the training that before was not available due to lack of funding. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />. The grant award will allow consumers to be trained in a recovery-based <br />curriculum and they will train other consumers. The program will be used at our <br />Psychosocial program Opportunity House. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />. No local match funding is required. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br />.
