April 26, 1988 <br /> <br /> As listed above. <br /> <br /> The city Treasurer is requesting the following refunds <br />(without interest) for Personal Property Taxes: <br /> <br /> As list~ ~b6~e. <br /> <br /> I rec6mm~nd~tha~ Council adopt t~is motion and the refunds <br />be granted." ~' <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and secdn~d~d~'by Mr. Barnes, th. at the <br />refunds be granted (without interest), as requested, and was <br />adopted by'unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 88-179 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption Of a motion approving the selection of the City's <br />independent auditor as recommended by the Municipal Finance <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> "Enclosed is a letter from the Municipal Finance <br />Commission recommending that the public accounting firm of <br />Peat, Marwick, Main & Co., be selected as the City's auditors. <br />The contract would be for three years with a renewal option of <br />two years subjec~t to negotiation of a satisfactory price for <br />the additional two years. <br /> <br /> Peat, Marwick, Main & Co., has served as the City's <br />independent auditors for the last five years. The firm has <br />provided excellent an.d dedicated service to the City. <br /> <br /> I concur with the Municipal Finance.Commission's <br />recommendation. Council's favorable consideration is requested <br />of a motion to award the contract to Peat, Marwick, Main & Co." <br /> <br /> Motion'of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Barhes, to <br />concur with the Municipal Finance Commission recommendation to <br />award the contract to Peatr Marwick, Main & Co., as the City's <br />independen5 audDt6~r, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br /> 88-180 - Stewart Prost , 317 London Blvd., representing <br />the National Federation of the Blind, spok~ concerning the cab <br />fares and service in the City. <br /> <br /> The matter was referred to the City Manager and the City <br />Attorney for review. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />at 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
