JulYll, 2000 '~ 225 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, July 11, 2000, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />~Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D, Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. <br />Ward RObinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm Ill, William E. Moody, ,Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., Deputy Cty Manager H: Timothy Little, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />00 - 161 - The following call ~,0r the meeting was read: / <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference R~om, 801 Crawfor~l Street 6th flOOr 5:00 p,m. Tuesday, July <br />11,2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />00 - 162 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. River Pointe <br /> <br />· . Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss <br />or consider the following: <br /> <br />- subsection 3, the acquisition or sale of realty for a public purpose; and <br /> <br /> subsection 4, prospective business expansion or location, and also investing <br />public funds where competition or bargaining is involved. <br /> <br /> - In addition, Council will discuss the performance of specific public officers, <br />appointees, or employees of the City, as permitted by subsection 1. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded byMr. Benn, pursuant to Section 2.1,344.1(D) <br />of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1.
