<br />Background:
<br />. Revenue in the School Board's FY2012 Budget approved on March 10, 2011
<br />(with the revised City Funds of $49,571 ,413) are:

<br />Federal Jobs Fund $ 3,062,208.
<br />Other Funds $ 1,625,000.

<br />. Two other appropriations to the School Board Operating Fund and Risk
<br />Management Fund are being considered at this Council meeting:

<br />. To fully appropriate the Revenue shown above, the following additional
<br />appropriations to the FY12 budget are required:

<br />Discussion:
<br />. The above appropriations will allow the School Board to fully utilize all sources of
<br />Revenue for FY2012.
<br />
<br />Financial Impact:
<br />. These funds will be used to reduce the impact of the reduction of over $12 million
<br />in Virginia and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds from the
<br />School Board Budget between FY2009 and FY2012.
<br />
<br />Staff Recommends:
<br />. Adoption of proposed appropriation ordinance. Vision Principle: Lifelong Learning

<br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following
<br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS OF $673,373 IN THE FY 2011-12
<br />EDUCATION--SCHOOL OPERATING FUND AND $293,278 IN FY 2011-12
<br />EDUCATION--OTHER FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF
<br />VIRGINIA."

<br />11 - 212 - Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $8,078 in the FY 2010-11
<br />Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund in McKinney-Vento Act Homeless
<br />Assistance Incentive Funds received from the Virginia Department of Behavioral
<br />Health and Developmental Services for the Program to Assist in the Transition
<br />from Homelessness. Vision Principle: Thriving Neighborhoods and a Sense of
<br />Community.
