May 11, 1988

q)

I am proposing the establishment of a $75 administration
fee to be charged by the Building Official for processing
permits for persons who have undertaken work before
obtaining the necessary permits. Also~ I am proposing a
$25.00 fee for a certificate of occupancy except when
issued in conjunction with a building permit. In
addition~ several other minimum ~n~ other fees are~ being
rocommended'~o~"increases.

From To

Re-inspections $10.00
Minimum fees for work
costing up to $5,000 10.00
Fees for signs: Under
100 square ft. 10.00
100-299 sq. ft. 20.00
300 + sq. ft. 25.00
Permit for repair of
billboards 10.00
Electrical inspection
minimum 10.00
Temporary Service, 60 amps. 10.00
Plumbing permit fees 10.00
Mechanical permit fees 10.00
Amusement rides (new fee) -

Elevator annual permit
and test

Elevator periodic inspection
Elevator Maintenance
Inspection (weight test)
Board of Appeals application
Board of examiners
level I Worker
level i worker-reexamination
Board of Zoning appeals
application (will require
Planning Commission action)

$25.00

15.00

25.00
30.00
35.00

25.00

15.00
15.00
15.00
15.00
10~ 20,
or 40
depending
upon
size of
ride

20.00 75.00
(semiannual)

50.00

25.00 50.00
50.00

25.00 50.00
15.00 50.00

20.00 50.00

The provisions of the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement
System requires modification so as to permit the one time
adjustment for pensioners as outlined in my budget
message. The Fire and Police system presently contains
sufficient authorization for payments to be made to the
pensioners in this system. The Pay and Classification
Plan ordinance will complete this specific authorization
to enable the special adjustments to pensioners to be
calculated for payment to our retirees.

The number of leave days that our employees are able to
carry forward from year to year is presently 42 days. I
propose that this be increased to permit the carry
forward of 44 annual leave days.
