<br />following ordinance approved on first reading at the regular
<br />meeting of May 11, .1988, was taken up and read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 35-91 OF THE CODE OF THE
<br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973. PERTAINING TO THE
<br />CIGARETTE TAX.~

<br /> The-ordinance was adopted on final reading, and by the

<br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 23-470, PERTAINING TO
<br />MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE TAXES."
