July 25, 2000 <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· There is no local match required. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to transfer $514,915 from <br />the Grants Contingency Fund to support the Portsmouth Community Corrections and <br />Pretrial Services Program which provides comprehensive and beneficial alternatives to <br />incarceration, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />00 - 181 - Mr. Griffin offered the following nominations for the following Boards and <br />Commissions: <br /> <br />MUSEUM-FINE ARTS COMMISSION <br /> <br />Katherine Schuhr to be appointed to fill a three year term ending October 31, 2003, <br />replacing Martha Ann Creecy. <br /> <br />BEHAVIORIAL HEALTHCARE ADVISORY SERVICES BOARD <br /> <br />Victoria Jamir to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2003, replacing <br />Katherine Schuhr. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY CRIMINAL JUSTICE BOARD <br /> <br />Margaret R. Buxton to be appointed to fill a three year term ending June 30, 2003, <br />replacing Brian F. Melchor. <br /> <br />COMMISSION OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW- ALTERNATES <br /> <br />Martha Ann Creecy to be appointed to fill a four year ending June 30, 2004. <br /> <br />Donna Blonts to be appointed to fill a four year ending June 30, 2004. <br /> <br />Dan Schmit to be appointed to fill a four year ending June 30, 2004. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION <br /> <br />Beth Haneman to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2004, <br />replacing Maggie Anderson. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to close the nominations, <br />and there being no further nominations, the above nominations were adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />00 - 182 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to permanently fix the <br />current audio system, and was adopted by a vote of 5-1 (Griffin). <br /> <br />00 - 183 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to waive the rules of <br />order to allow Mr. Turner an additional two minutes to speak, and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />1. Steve Turner, 1705 Bradford Terrace, asked for preservation of seven homes in <br /> Park View. <br /> <br /> <br />
