162 <br /> <br />July 12, 1988 <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br /> 88-274 - The following ordinance as amended, adopted on <br />first and final reading was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 4[d) AND-i3 OF THE CITY <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN <br />(ORDINANCE NO.1988-64), PERTAINING TO ADMINISTRATIVE <br />SALARY ADJUSTMENTS AND SALARIES FOR UNCLASSIFIED <br />POSITIONS." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Hawks, the <br />following ordinance was adopted on final reading~ <br /> <br /> 88-275 - George Grant, Sr., P.~O. Box 7944, spoke <br />concerning the existing problem~'in our City Governmentl <br /> <br /> 88-276 Rev. Richard Lovingood, Cradock Presbysterlan <br />Church, spoke concerning Public Education. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray that this <br />matter be referred to the City Attorney's Office for <br />investigation and to be deferred to our next work session on <br />July 26, 1988. <br /> <br /> 88-277 - D~. Emery Byron, Cradock Baptist Church, spoke <br />concerning Public Education. <br /> <br /> 88-278 - Cameron C. Pitts, 4816 Mallard Crescent, <br />representing Railroad Relocation Task Force, spoke concerning <br />Railroad Relocation. <br /> <br /> 88-279 - John Gray Wallace, 957 "C" Suburban Parkway, <br />spoke concerning a personnel matter among the City Manager and <br />the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> 88-280 - Gilbert W. Ronco, 13 W. Roberts Court, spoke <br />concerning neighborhood noise. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Simpson that <br />this matter be referred to the City Manager and City Attorney <br />for further investigation, i <br /> <br /> 88-281 - Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, representing <br />Highland Biltmore Civic League, spoke concerning the drainage <br />project in his area. <br /> <br />On motiOn meeting adjourned at 8:05 plm. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
