July 26, 1988 <br /> <br /> 88-295 - Bonnie Skillman~ 451 Florida Avenue, spoke <br />concerning problems she was having with getting a parking waiver <br />for some property at 401 Mt. Vernon Avenue. Council referred the <br />matter to the City Manager for investigation. ~ <br /> <br /> 88-296 - Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, spoke concerning the <br />choice of ~Councilman Simpson for ~%he Drug Task Force. ~. <br /> <br /> 88-297 Leon Battle, 1622 Darren Circle, spoke concerning <br />the conditions of the city. <br /> <br /> 88-298 - John Wallac3e, 957 "C" Suburban Parkway.,. spoke <br />concerning the choice of Councilman Simpson for the Drug Task <br />Force. <br /> <br /> 88-299 Idella Parker, 236 Project Drive, spoke ~concerhing <br />the harassment that some Parks and Recreation Department <br />employees have been receiving in certain neighborhoods where they <br />were working. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes a~d seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the matter <br />be referred to the City Manager for investigation, and was adopte~ <br />by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Lucas, referring to a Human Relations Commission a!sked <br />that a time frame be set for the establishment of this Commiission <br />The Mayor responded and stated that she had requested that ai draf~ <br />ordinance on the Human Relations Commission be prepared and. <br />suggested that Couneil should review and discuss ~i~ ~n a Worik <br />Session. <br /> <br /> 88-300 - George M. Rose, 6407 Portsmouth Boulevard, sp~ke <br />concerning Boards and Commissions in the city. <br /> <br /> 88-301- Robert E. Stephenson, 1405 Loren Crescent, sp~ke <br />concerning the usage of Portsmouth Stadium as a ball park.! <br /> <br /> 88-302 - Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. SimpsOn to <br />adjourn into a public work session in the Council Conferencei Room <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. Items to be discussed i~ the <br />Work Session were the proposed Human Relations Commission add Old, <br /> <br />Town Parking. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
