January 24, 1989 At a called meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, January 24~ T98~ , there were p~esent: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor J. Robert Gray, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corprew, Jr., James C. Hawks, *L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. 89-27 - The followfng call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a.called me'e%i~g of'th~.City C~un=il ~to be. held in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Cr~fo.rd?St~e~,~a%34:3~ p.m.,:Tu~sday, J~a~;~ary 24,~lg.~9~-for the purpose Of a presentation on t e Physical Standards Program for Public Safety Employees.. In addition, Executive Session. you may consider a mction to go into~an By order of the Mayor." .Jodie~Me~ker, Wellness Coordinator, gave a presentation on the Physical S~andards-Program for~Public Safety Employees~ 89-28 Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Simpson to go into Executive Session ~n accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of..Virginia.to discuss the following: 1. Condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 2. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under subsection (a) (1); 3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the City Council as permitted under.subsection (a) (6); 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 5. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (1). On motion was ad©pted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting adjourned. APPROVED - Mayor ~ ulerk *Councilwoman Lucas arrived for the work session at 4:40 p.m.
