Corprew, Jr., <br />J. Robert Gray, James C. Hawks, L~ Louise Lucas, J Herbert <br />Simpson, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven <br />Lieberman~ C~ty Attorney <br /> <br /> 89-O0~1 -'Public He~ring on an amendment to the City <br />and rezoning application~. <br /> <br /> (f) CA-89-1 <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br />CITY CODE AMENDMENT - A proposal to <br />amend chapter 40 of the City Code <br />pertaining to the Downtown D-1 <br />district, the creation of a new <br />Downtown D-2 district, establishing <br />development standards for the D-2 <br />district, and modifying parking <br />requirements in the D-1 district. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks, to defer code amendment for 90 days, <br />failed due to lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to concur <br />with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that CA-89-1 <br />be approved on first reading, and was adopted by unanimous <br />vote. . ~ <br /> <br /> (g) Z-88-16 DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD - Rezoning <br /> appliCation of the City Planning <br /> Co.mraission, by Planning Director <br /> Norman Whitaker,~ for property <br /> generally bounded by London Boulevard <br /> On the north, t~e Norfoik& Portsmouth <br /> Be~t'Line Railro~ad on the west, County <br /> Street On the s~uth~and~CheStnut <br /> Street on the east. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and Seconded by Mrs, Lucas, to concur <br />with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-88-16 <br />be approved on firSt reading, and was adopt by 5~.2 (Hawks, <br />Webb) vote. <br /> <br /> 89-49 - Public Hearing <br />amendment to the City Code. <br /> <br />(a) UP-88-17 <br /> <br /> Mr. <br />A~oco, <br /> <br />on use permit applications and an <br /> <br />TRUXTUN NEIGHBORHOOD - Use permit <br />application of TrUxtun Triangle <br />AssociateS, bY Ronald Mickiewicz, <br />agent for Amoco, for a gasoline <br />service station and convenience store <br />for property on the west side of <br />Frederick Boulevard, between Deep <br />Creek and Portsmouth Boulevards. <br /> <br /> Edward L. OaSt, Jr., 4512 Winston Road, <br />spoke in support of the use permit. <br /> <br />representing <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to <br />concur witch the recommendation of the Planning Commission that <br />UP-88-17 be approved on first reading by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
