February 13, 1989 At a called meeting of the City Council held on February 13, 1989 thee were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Jack P. Barnes, J. Robert Gray, James C. Hawks, L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, City Attorney *Absent: E. G. Corpre~, Jr. Portsmouth General Hospital Foundation Maury W. Cooke, David B. Stuart, J. Humter Brantley, Samuel D. Perry, C. Edward Russell, Allan Gollihue, Joanna Campbell, Sheila P. Pittman, V. Wayne Orton, Ben Ao Beamer Lawrence I'Anson, Executive Director Beazley Foundation 89-46 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a called meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801Crawford Street, at 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 1989, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 89-47 - The following was discussed in the Session: 1. Portsmouth General ~ospital Foundation Public Work 2. Legislative Items Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Gray, to go into Executive Session in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss the fellowing: 1. Condition, acquisition and use of real property for public purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 2. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the School Board as permitted under subsection (a) (6); 3. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted under subsection (a) (2); 4. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as permitted under subsection (a) (t).
