The Sheriff has requested additional appropriation to provide this needed and required care for the balance of the fiscal year. It should be no~ed that the State block gr~n~ which is based Qn~a per. diem rate p~r prisoner, will fund most of this added cost (~stimated 94%). "The City of Chesapeake has requested that-,Portsmouth provide sanitary sewer service to the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Company, Inc. located at 1321 Victory Boulevard. This location is in the area disputed by Portsmouth and Chesapeake on the 1968 Annexation. Portsmouth currently serves Tho~psDn ~ith water through'a previous agreement between Portsmouth and Chesapeake. The thre~ pa~rty agreement~ between Portsmouth., Chesapeake and Thompson has been reviewed by the City. Attorney who feels it both acknowledges the boundary dispute and protects Portsmouth's rights i~.the dispute. With~this in mind, the Direc~or~ of Public Utilities ~ecommends extensio.n of sewer service tD Thompson at their full cost and I concur."
