<br /> "On February 24, 1989, petitions for a referendum in regards
<br />to the rezoning of the existing Churchland High School site on
<br />High Street were filed in the Office of the CitY Clerk.
<br />
<br /> Pursuant to Section 10.03 of the Charter of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, said petitions are hereby submitted to City Council or
<br />the 28th of February, 1989, the next regular meeting following the
<br />filing thereof.

<br /> I am advised by the General Registrar that 8,869 signatures
<br />of electors of the City of Portsmouth are necessary in order to
<br />comply with Section 10.02 of the Charter of the City of
<br />Portsmouth.
