G. Corprew, Jr.,* <br />James C. Hawks, Lo Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, <br />George L. Hanbury, II, City Manager, St~ven Lieberman, <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />Absent: Vice Mayor J. Robert Gray <br /> <br />89-96 - The following call for the meeting was read~ <br /> <br /> "Please attend a special called meeting of the City <br />Council to be held in the Council Conference Room, 6th floor <br />of City Hall, 801 Crawford Streetl at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br />March 14, 1989, for the purpose of a Public Works Session. <br /> <br /> In addition you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 89-97 - A Public Work Session was held for the appeal from <br />~athryn Broughton; regarding a decision of the Commission of <br />Architectural Review for Port No~folk and Park View, denying <br />the replacement of 26 wooden porch columns at 518 Florida <br />Avenue with aluminum siding, deferred from the Public Work <br />Session of February.28, 1989. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Barnes to concur <br />with the decision of the Commission of Architectural Review <br />for Port Norfolk and Park View to deny~the request, and was <br />adopted by a vote of 5-I (Simpson). <br /> <br /> 89-98 - Motion of Mr. Hawks and seconded by Mr. Barnes to <br />go into an executive session in accordance with Section 2.1-34 <br />of the Code of Virginia to discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Condition, acquisition and use of real property for <br />public purposes as permitted under subsection (a) (2); <br /> <br /> 2. Consideration of a personnel matter as permitted under <br />subsection (a) (1); <br /> <br /> 3. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staffs <br />members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other <br />legal matters within the jurisdiction of the City Council as <br />permitted under subsection (a) (6); <br /> <br /> 4. The disposition of publicly held property as permitted <br />under subsection (a) (2); <br /> <br /> 5. Consideration of appointments by the City Council as <br />permitted under subsection (a) (1). <br /> <br />motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meetig~ adjourned. <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />*Councilman Corprew arrived at 5:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
