<br />256 <br /> <br />June 8. 2010 <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A LEASE RENEWAL WITH THE PORTSMOUTH <br />HUMANE SOCIETY. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the City <br />Manager is authorized and directed to execute and deliver a Lease Renewal with the <br />Portsmouth Humane Society substantially the same as the Lease Renewal which is. <br />attached hereto." <br /> <br />Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />10 - 288 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />10 - 289 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />~ Mr. Moody asked for concurrence from City Council to have Staff draft a resolution <br />voicing the City's opposition to the proposed tolls on the local tunnels. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Smith suggested that Staff contact the City of Norfolk to get their support and <br />also ask that they adopt this resolution opposing tolls on local tunnels. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Moody asked the City Manager to give an update on a timeline in which flooding <br />and drainage issues will be taken care of by the New Port developers in Highland <br />Biltmore. <br /> <br />. City Manager Chandler provided an update on the flooding and drainage issues in <br />Highland Biltmore and informed City Council that a more extensive update would be <br />provided in 2 weeks. <br /> <br />10 - 290 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />. Dana Woodson, Public Information Officer, gave an update on items of concern <br />presented by citizens at the May 25, 2010 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />10 - 291 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, provided information on the historical <br />significance of the Stewart Manor neighborhood. <br /> <br />2.
