Mav 24.2010 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None 10 - 246 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Economic Development Director Report - Patrick Small, Economic Development Director 2. Floodplain Management Plan - Paul Holt, Deputy City Manager 3. Transportation Discussion Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss the following legal authorities: subsection 1, appointments to boards and commissions; subsection 7, specific legal matters requiring the advice of legal counsel. The subject matter of the meeting includes Council appointments and the status of a memorandum of intent for expansion of Maryview Hospital and related mixed-use development. The purpose of the meeting is to permit confidential discussion of possible candidates for appointment, and also the legal status of negotiations. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Heretick, Moody, Psi mas, Randall, Smith, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1.
