June 27, 1989 <br /> <br /> "The Commission of Revenue is requesting the following <br />refunds (without interest) for Business Licenses erroneously paid: <br /> <br />As listed above. <br /> <br /> The City Treasurer is requesting the following refund <br />(without interest) for the Delinquent Taxes paid erroneously: <br /> <br />As listed above. <br /> <br /> The City Treasurer is requesting the following refunds <br />(without interest) for Real Estate Tax overpayments: <br /> <br />As listed above. <br /> <br /> The City Treasurer is requesting the following refund <br />(without interest) for Personal Property Taxes paid erroneously: <br /> <br />As listed above. <br /> <br /> I recommend that Council adopt this motion and the refunds be <br />granted." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the <br />refunds be granted without interest as requested, and was adopted <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, <br />Nays: None <br />Abstained: Hawks <br /> <br />Gray, <br /> <br />Simpson, Webb <br /> <br /> Councilman Hawks abstained from voting because of a real <br />estate tax refund due his office for a client. <br /> <br />89-265 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion t6 accept as information a listing of Delinquent Personal <br />Property Taxes for the taxable year 1988, and data related to <br />Personal Property Taxes for the past five years~ <br /> <br /> "Transmitted herewith is a letter from Mr. Charles B. <br />whitehurst, City Treasurer, submitting to City Council a list of <br />Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the taxable year 1988. <br /> <br /> Also enclosed is a report Showing statistical data related <br />to personal property taxes for the past five years, which was <br />prepared in the Department of Finance. <br /> <br /> A copy of the printout listing Delinquent 1988 Personal <br />Property Taxes is available in the City Clerk's Office for <br />Council's use. Also, a copy has been placed in the City's Public <br />Library for review by the public." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes~ that the <br />listing of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the taxable <br />1988, and data related to Personal Property Taxes for the past <br />five years be accepted as information and was adopted by <br />vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
