June 27, 1989 "The Commission of Revenue is requesting the following refunds (without interest) for Business Licenses erroneously paid: As listed above. The City Treasurer is requesting the following refund (without interest) for the Delinquent Taxes paid erroneously: As listed above. The City Treasurer is requesting the following refunds (without interest) for Real Estate Tax overpayments: As listed above. The City Treasurer is requesting the following refund (without interest) for Personal Property Taxes paid erroneously: As listed above. I recommend that Council adopt this motion and the refunds be granted." Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the refunds be granted without interest as requested, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Nays: None Abstained: Hawks Gray, Simpson, Webb Councilman Hawks abstained from voting because of a real estate tax refund due his office for a client. 89-265 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a motion t6 accept as information a listing of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the taxable year 1988, and data related to Personal Property Taxes for the past five years~ "Transmitted herewith is a letter from Mr. Charles B. whitehurst, City Treasurer, submitting to City Council a list of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the taxable year 1988. Also enclosed is a report Showing statistical data related to personal property taxes for the past five years, which was prepared in the Department of Finance. A copy of the printout listing Delinquent 1988 Personal Property Taxes is available in the City Clerk's Office for Council's use. Also, a copy has been placed in the City's Public Library for review by the public." Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes~ that the listing of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the taxable 1988, and data related to Personal Property Taxes for the past five years be accepted as information and was adopted by vote.
